Sac State Sunset - 09/04/08 with Aquifer!

That’s right, Sac State is back in session for Fall, and that means we’re crankin’ it up all the way!
Just like clockwork, the phone lines lit up as soon as B-Unit walked in the studio, at it was Ivan, a long-time listener of the show.
Ivan called in to talk about his first day of school & request “Siguelo,” by Wisin y Yandel. He also saw B-Unit on TV during school….Hit up the podcast to listen!
After a song break, Rooster called in to disrupt B-Unit’s story and say something “cherry.”…He also said “If there’s a shout-out I could do…for Grizz the Gossip Girl…we haven’t myspace’d or text in a while…”
That’s why we dedicated the song “Gimme da Business” for those two…
Right off the back, we had Oscar, “EL CHILANGATION” called in to give us some saludos and requested “Sexi Movimiento.” He also asked to say what’s up to our homies Arcadio & Miguelito.
At 8:30, B-Unit fired up the sports report for the first week of the semester! CSUS Women’s Soccer is on the road playin the UC Riverside highlanders this weekend as well as playin the “Gauchos.” Yes, I do believe there mascot is a pair of women’s pants. In Hornet football, B-Unit said that we won our first game here at CSUS! Our homie Ron Rich got a crazy tackle, and the Hornets won 42-13 against Humboldt State. The Morris Brothers couldn’t come in - they had a game that went longer than expected…we’ll catch up with them later in the semester!
B-Unit and I tried to order pizza off the request line…didn’t quite work….
The week was pretty eventful for us, and B-unit and I exchanged our stories…B-Unit had some dude try to get at her on the side of the road…and I won a $300 gift certificate to a Laser Skin surgery center… WHAT THE?! True! Listen to the podcast for the whole story…
Nick from Aquifer called in to ask for directions to the studio, B-Unit gladly went and searched them out and helped them to the studio…
At 9:00, Grizz called in to dish some gossip…She revealed to us and ESPECIALLY me that Christina Aguilera will be opening up for the VMA’s! Christina and I ARE married, but I haven’t seen her for a quick minute…Grizz revealed the rest of the performing lineup…We also talked trash on Usher and his new song where he talks about how he wants to be treated like a CHICK! Amador Couty’s finest rap duo, Aquifer, was in the studio for the second half of the show talkin about their music, influences, shows and MORE. Aquifer is made up of the dynamic duo Nick Bianco & Tommy Fox, both of whom I’ve known personally for quite a while!
After reminiscing a bit about the old days and a little “beard-talk,” we played one of their tracks off their newest album, Room for Growth. The song is called “Been Told,” and it is a legit cut!
Among some commercials and shout-outs, Aquifer told us about their upcoming shows, performing in Humboldt, and how they scored and scorched over 6,000 vinyl albums!
Some humble fellas, Aquifer elaborated on where they get their influences, their flow, and mannerisms.
Jackie the Boss and her roommate Leslie called in to the show to show some love to Aquifer and to say she is all ready to get bossy once more for the new semester at Sac State!
